TinkerCard- Olivia Spanswick

https://oliviaspanswick.wixsite.com/educ3620-tech-blog

Hi Olivia!

I love the layout of this blog and all it involves. It made it super easy to find the information and understand the ‘why‘ when referring to the use of this in an Educational setting.

I found this technology choice really interesting as the information you provided shows how TinkerCard can be used in a range of Education settings particularly supporting the mathematics syllabus. The link to the video gives a really detailed example of TinkerCard, and would be a fantastic way to showcase this technology to Educators looking to spark up the classroom!

One thing I would recommend is diving deeper into the social implications (if any) for this technology. I personally would really like to understand how you think it would work in a classroom… does it foster group collaboration? Does it have an ability for students to go too far off task and get distracted?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this blog. Can’t wait for the next one!

3D Pens - Amanda Lynch

https://amandalynch6.wixsite.com/educ3620blogs

Hi Amanda,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog post about 3D pens. It contains reference to the NSW syllabus with strong examples of how 3D pens can foster creativity for learners in these settings. I can see from your image that even an image students draw can literally pop off the page. I wonder the difficulty level to create 3D shapes in mathematics? I'd love your insight :) .

One thing that i pick up on when reading this blog is it doesn't quite go into too much depth about the pedagogical challenges and social implications. Could this be something you add in, in future blogs. I know emerging educators like myself would love to understand the ins and outs of these technologies.

Thanks for sharing your insight. Can’t wait till the next post :)

OSMO- Sela Fifita

Hi Sela!

What an awesome layout. Your blog is so bright and engaging. Definitely set for an audience of educators! It have some really strong and well researched points within your discussion of OSMO. I thoroughly enjoyed reading though your blog, and came across some really interesting and though provoking comments such as this technologies use in spelling development.

I just have one question- do you think there are many social implications with this technology and are there more limitations. You speak about how there is only select words/images to be used, does this limit the stages in school where it can be used? Just some thoughts 🙂

3D Pens - Imijin Rutherford

Hi Imijin,

I loved reading through your blog post- so interesting! You have a really strong discussion of 3D pens written in an academic style easily understood by teachers, emerging educators and probably the public. I personally would follow this blog to learn more about emerging technologies and their use in the classroom. My like others who have engaged with your blog I think a video, demonstrating the use of this technology would be very beneficial to show people like myself who have never used one, exactly how they are used. This would also allow teachers to understand if student fine motor skills are developed enough for a task like the ‘volume house’ you explained.

Overall i thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and can’t wait for the next post!!
